Left Music / Legal
Privacy Policy
Left Music is designed around your listening, not around advertising. This policy explains what information the app uses, where it goes, and the choices you have.
Effective September 27, 2026
01
Who we are
Left Music is operated by 52 Hertz (Hangzhou) Cultural and Creative Co., Ltd. In this policy, “Left Music,” “52HZ,” “we,” and “us” refer to that company.
Questions or privacy requests can be sent to hello@52hz.design.
02
Information we collect
Depending on the features you choose, Left Music may process:
- Account information, including your email address, display name, profile image, sign-in provider, account identifier, and account creation date.
- Music-service information from Apple Music or Spotify, such as connection and subscription status, profile details, saved tracks, followed artists, top tracks, playback state, and the catalog identifiers needed to play or manage music.
- Recommendation activity, including likes, unlikes, skips, “more like this” and “not for me” actions, associated track and artist identifiers, listening duration, recommendation mode, and timestamps.
- Nearby-session information when you enable nearby discovery, including the song currently being shared by participating devices and proximity or direction signals provided by Apple frameworks.
- Technical information required to operate the service, such as authentication sessions, request timestamps, network errors, and security logs maintained by our infrastructure providers.
We do not use advertising trackers, request access to your precise geographic location, or collect payment-card details.
03
How we use information
- Authenticate you and keep your account available across sessions.
- Connect the music service you choose and perform actions you request.
- Generate and improve personalized music recommendations.
- Sync your profile, connection status, and recommendation preferences across your devices.
- Enable nearby listening experiences when you explicitly grant the required permissions.
- Protect accounts, prevent abuse, diagnose failures, and maintain the service.
- Comply with legal obligations and respond to valid legal requests.
04
Music and identity providers
Left Music connects to services only after you choose to authorize them. Apple, Google, and Spotify independently process information under their own privacy policies and show you the permissions requested during authorization.
Music-service access tokens are stored in the device Keychain where applicable. We use those credentials to make the provider requests needed for playback, library actions, and recommendations. We do not sell or rent music-service data.
You can disconnect a music provider in Left Music or revoke access from that provider’s account settings. Revocation may prevent related features from working.
05
Storage and sharing
We use Supabase to provide account authentication, database storage, profile-image storage, synchronization, and account-deletion functions. Information may also pass through Apple, Google, or Spotify when you use their sign-in or music services.
We disclose information only to service providers acting on our instructions, when you direct us to do so, to protect users and the service, or when required by law. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
These providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where required, we rely on appropriate legal safeguards for international transfers.
06
Retention
Account and profile information is generally kept while your account remains active. Cloud-synced recommendation activity is used on a rolling basis and is designed to retain up to 180 days of events. On-device listening-consumption history is designed to retain 30 days.
Authentication and music-provider credentials remain until they expire, are revoked, you disconnect the provider, sign out, or delete your account. Some limited records may be retained longer where necessary for security, dispute resolution, or legal compliance.
07
Your choices and rights
You can edit your profile, disconnect music services, sign out, and delete your Left Music account from within the app.
Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or obtain a copy of personal information, or to object to certain processing. Contact us to exercise a right. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.
You can manage Apple Music, Bluetooth, local-network, and nearby-interaction permissions in iOS Settings. Disabling a permission disables the feature that relies on it.
08
Security
We use technical and organizational measures intended to protect information, including encrypted network connections, provider-managed authentication, access controls, database policies, and Keychain storage for credential material. No system can guarantee absolute security, and we encourage you to protect access to your device and sign-in accounts.
09
Children
Left Music is not directed to children under 13, or the higher minimum age required in their country. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below that age. Contact us if you believe a child has provided such information.
10
Changes and contact
We may update this policy as Left Music changes. We will publish the revised policy here and update the effective date. We will provide additional notice when a change materially affects your rights or how we use personal information.
